Dear Parents,

What a beautiful evening we had at the Pasar Malam. Thank you for celebrating this event with us. The fantastic book: ‘See you at NIS’, that was promoted that evening, is for sale at the frontdesk. Make sure you get yourself a copy!

We had more new students starting last week and this week. We are so proud that NIS is growing in student numbers, a true testament to the excellent education we offer here.

We are working on making the communication as efficient as possible. Therefore EY parents will receive their update from teachers via a newsletter every second Friday. PY parents will receive class updates through Seesaw and by email if needed. NTC will receive their updates by mail or Seesaw.

On April 5th, Student led Conferences are running. The children are working hard to prepare for this; we hope you will enjoy this shared learning time with your child. If you have more than 1 child at NIS, we advise not to have both siblings present during the conferences. There will be supervision on the Early years playground from 8am-2pm provided by our teaching assistants. Your children are welcome to play here while they wait for their turn to conference. In this way you can fully focus on the SLC of your Daughter/Son. Pre-Nursery class and NTC lessons will run as usual this day.

Please be informed that children are not allowed to wear flip flops at school.

Please visit the NIS HAS GOT TALENT SHOW on Friday April 7th.

NIS will celebrate her 50th anniversary on May 19th and 20th.

Join us on May 20th  for an elegant evening with live music, delicious food and a great celebration for the 50th Anniversary of NIS! Don’t forget to book your babysitter - 20 May from 19.00.
Look for the invitations next week. Tickets go on sale 10-14 April.

Have a great weekend

NTC update:

On Saturday, last week, there was a camera crew at Menteng Pulo War Cemetry. The camera crew was filming people to make a document to remember World War 2nd. Mr Edwin was there with some of our older NTC students. The results will be shown on Dutch television, on the 4th of May, RTL 4.

I would also like to let you know that next schoolyear’s NIS Holidays will be planned mostly parallel to other schools in Jakarta.

Many NTC students have full schedules. Therefore I would like to remind you that, on Saturday, the 20th of May, there will be CITO tests.

Kind regards,
Marloes van Oostenbrugge
NTC coordinator
