Dutch Inspection of Education

As in all Dutch schools, NIS is supervised and accredited by the Dutch Inspectorate of Education. Once every four years, the Dutch Inspectorate visits the school to evaluate the level of education and how the findings of the previous visit have been taken into consideration by the school. The report of the Inspector is public and you as a parent can receive a copy at the Administration office. In 2011 the Inspector will visit the school again.

International Primary Curriculum

International Primary Curriculum

The NIS is in the process of acquiring full accreditation for the International Primary Curriculum. The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is now in use in more than 90 schools in 38 countries. Based on the most explicit learning standards that cover subject, personal and, uniquely, international understanding; the IPC provides teachers and schools with more than 70 Units of Work around which to build a dynamic and exciting thematic curriculum for children ages 3-12.

Foundation Dutch Education Abroad, (SNOB)

The Foundation Dutch Education Abroad, in Dutch abbreviated as SNOB is a centre for assessment for both Dutch parents and Dutch schools abroad. With regard to educational matters, the SNOB offers advice and help, similar to what would be offered in the Netherlands by employing specialized educational institutions. While on leave in the Netherlands, parents have the opportunity to have their child tested. The SNOB is also a vital link for the school to the Dutch government as well as to the Dutch Educational Inspectorate.
