Primary School

Education at NIS is challenging, with special care for the individual child. Classes are small and have a maximum of 24 students. Lessons start at 7:30 am and finish at 1:30 pm.

A typical day at NIS involves maths and languages in the mornings. For these academic subjects, we focus on the British Cambridge Curriculum. In the afternoons we work on inquiry and topic based subjects such as: history, geography, science, arts and crafts-all within the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) (see the web page on IPC for more information on this fantastic new curriculum). Social skills such as independence, cooperation, self confidence and creativity are stressed and interwoven into each lesson.
