Sander Fisser | Principal
I have lived here in Jakarta with my wife and three children since August 2010. Before coming on board at the Netherlands International School, I built my experience in primary education in diverse positions at a variety of schools in The Netherlands and Singapore. From my perspective, every choice we make and everything we do in a school has to contribute to improving the education offered to children. That is where I like to contribute and this simple philosophy is what inspires me every day. |

Tom Navis | Teacher Groep 7-8 Dutch Stream
I studied psychology, management and teaching. I worked as a teacher for International and Dutch schools in Africa, America and Europe. I'm proud to say that, before I worked at NIS, my last two classes in England reached the number one and two positions on the Netherlands CITO over all ranking, being the highest scoring classes on the CITO End of Primary School test ever in Dutch history. We've got the 'know-how' to reach that same level at NIS. It's got everything it takes to become the best! |

I have been at NIS since 2006 and enjoyed every moment of it. Prior to coming on board I worked at several universities and other international schools in Jakarta. I began here at NIS as Head of the English department for the Dutch stream but am now having a fantastic time as class teacher for primary three and four in the international stream. Mimu Nanwani | Teacher Primary 1-2 English Stream
I have been part of the NIS family since July 2007. Prior to this I was a teacher cum head of toddlers/nursery level at a pre-school for 12 years.
I believe that education at its best should never be only about academic aims. Individual and social developments are of equal importance which in turn can contribute to a child's holistic development so as to create balanced individuals for the future. NIS strikes the balance for this and I am proud to be a part of this family

I have been here since July 2006 and loved every moment of it. As I discovered my deep interest in working with young children, I pursued my studies further and acquired my Bachelor's in Development Counseling, with a specialization in Child Psychology from the SNDT College of Science in Mumbai, India.
This was followed by an Early Childhood Course through the Jakarta Montessori International. It's been a real pleasure to impart my expertise and contribute to the positive development of young children since then! |

Femke Keetman | Teacher Groep 3-4 Dutch Stream
Passions of mine in both my professional life and private life have come together for me here at NIS: teaching and traveling! I moved to Jakarta in July 2010 with the ambition to teach Dutch children who have been displaced from the Netherlands for various reasons.
I believe that my curiosity about life and the world is as strong as it was when
I was a child, so after graduation I began working at a multicultural school in Amsterdam, continuing to explore with my students. There I taught Special Education, working with both learning and behavioral challenged students.
Alongside teaching, I was Coordinator for a task team designed to develop new educational strategies. I am very happy here in Jakarta being part of such a professional and internationally minded team! Together we nurture independent and innovative learners, preparing them to join their local, and global, communities. Globally, all children deserve an education from the highest level available, and NIS provides that here in Jakarta! |

Andhi Arnas | Music Teacher
I have been teaching music since 2000 at several schools in and around Jakarta. My musical background consists of a variety of guitar courses and music workshops in Australia and Malaysia. I love working with children and inspiring a life-long pass for appreciating and creating music.
The students at NIS are very confident, creative and full of energy. My aim for the children is not only to love music but learn to make music, no matter what kind of music it is!

Evelyn L Forbes | ESL Teacher
I have been part of the NIS team since April 2011. I first started my career in life in business and finance until I discovered a great passion in teaching.
As my passion grew deeper in teaching and learning I pursued and completed a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning from Charles Darwin University, Australia, which led me to my journey at NIS.
I am currently teaching English as Second Language ( also known as ESL), and I am having a great time discovering different the types of learners and challenges that constantly push me to become a lifelong learner.
Being at NIS has also shaped my teaching philosophy where new knowledge is constantly being imparted and discovered through a dynamic pedagogy and curriculum. I find joy in seeing children’s growth, addressing their curiosity and excitement in their learning own journey of learning and self-discovery

Yolla Pramitha | Art Teacher
I am a graduate of the University of Indonesia and i first came aboard as a teacher's assistant in the Dutch stream. Since that time, I've worked with just about every age group and every grade. I am now head of NIS' Art program for the kindergarten and primary grades in both the English and Dutch streams.
I will be teaching painting, sculpture, design and crafts. It's such a pleasure to teach children how to express themselves through so many different mediums. Art is an incredible vehicle that can take children to places within themselves they never knew existed. I'm just happy to be their guide. |
